I’ll admit, the inability of not being able to drive was one of the biggest drags of post heart surgery life. (Other than the discomfort.) So when I got the thumbs up to drive again, I literally vanished for a bit (AKA-I went out a lot because it wasn’t the house…)
But, I’m back now. Lots of fun stuff coming sooner than later.
For one thing, StokerCon2023 is literally in my back yard! It’s a seven minute drive to get there, I don’t have to get a hotel and I don’t have to miss it because of my medical issues. I’ll also be part of the Mass Author Signing that should coincide with the ARC release of All These Steps Lead Down set for official release on Halloween! (Squee!) Stay tuned for the cover reveal sometime in August.
The signing is on Friday the 16th from 6:15 to 7:15 (it’s the second wave) and it should be fun! The day before is a panel about Weird Pittsburgh featuring some of my #spookyfamily in the Pittsburgh Chapter of the HWA. That’s from 4 to 4:45PM on the 15th (June-we’re talkin’ June here.)
As I write this, I’m looking at pending rain clouds roll in, and I’m listening to the chimes on the front porch. No television or music, just the neighborhood sounds of birds and squirrels.
A sweet breeze nudging the chimes and I’m smiling. I’m far from where I’d like to be in my career in writing, but closer than I ever have been. I’m trying to take the advice of my sixteen year old daughter- “Don’t let anyone yuck your yum “
It’s good advice.
I’ll be writing again soon, hopefully with copies of the ARCs!
