It’s been a while to say the least and for that, I would like to say thank you for your patience. It is a surprising thing to realize that you not only have adult kids, but that one of them who doesn’t live in the house anymore isn’t always in your line of sight and of course, not in your proximity of influence. You just have to trust that everything is going to be okay; That the kid will do the right thing all the freaking time.
I am fortunate a guy who has kids that have the right thing as a default setting. This is a good thing…it’s everyone else around them that gives me the shakes.
As usual, I digress…
As the year has officially hit over the mid way point, my thoughts return to my often neglected website. It needs updating. It needs a lot of stuff. I need bloody updating honestly. The site is already an inanimate object but it does need to move.
Some folks say that life gets in the way…that’s stupid.
Everything gets in the way of your life. Sometimes, it’s a good thing. Sometimes you forget that you’re actually supposed to be living the aforementioned life. If you’ve been living without realizing it, congratulations! That’s good.
If you dwell constantly on your life and it’s direction without actually doing something about it, are you living or just existing?
I am a writer and one geared toward scary stuff. I am very aware of my place in the world and I do often hear from folks that I should “stay in my lane.” (Oddly enough, the people telling me to stay in my lane have stepped out of their lane to let me know this.)
So, here we are once again in my fuckin’ lane as it were.
As Lou Reed once sang, “The only thing constantly changing is change,” and what isn’t changing is apparently my lack of website updates. But I am going to try harder. This is, of course, a well-worn and proven semi fib. (If intentions were asbestos paving planks, the road to hell would be a leisurely stroll. You could literally skip…)
But there really isn’t a lot to update. Life tends to get in the way and sometimes, not in a lousy way!
I wanted mainly to pop in and say hello. I’ve missed ya, and there is some cool stuff coming. We are on the cusp of Creepy Season and that’s when it all comes alive!
